Your Guide to Michigan Golf

Michigan Golf

Bounded by four of the five Great Lakes, Michigan has the longest freshwater shoreline in the world and a number of sprawling, secluded layouts that will prove a stern test for both the weekend and scratch golfer.

In 2008, Michigan will be treated to two top-notch PGA Tour events. The annual Buick Invitational at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club is joined by this year’s  PGA Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club to give the state two prestigious tour stops.

The harsh winters don’t exactly allow for a tremendous amount of golf but they eventually give way to refreshing spring time temperatures and comfortable summer months ideal for a day on the course.

From the heavily-wooded areas and breathtaking scenery of Northern Michigan to the rolling terrain of Southern Michigan, the state is perhaps one of the most underrated golf destinations in the country.
