Twin Lakes Golf Oakland

Big, Fun, and Friendly" best describes Twin Lakes, a grander-than-grand stage for the game shaped from an open, treeless meadow 40 minutes north of Detroit. Designed by Ray Hearn of Jerry Mathews & Associates, this mammoth 6745-yard, par 71 course is nearly as wide as it is long. The greens, averaging 12,000 square feet, are quite possibly the largest in the sport, bigger than those on the Old Course at St. Andrews. "We've emulated some of the great-reward scenarios found on classic Scottish courses" says Hearn. Wildflowers, prairie grasses, marshlands and deep crater-like depressions all blend to create interesting contrast and transitions."
