Tullymore golfTullymore Golf Club at The Resorts of Tullymore & St. Ives has again made Golf Digest's prestigious list of America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses in 2009.

Tullymore first appeared on the list in 2007 and subsequently in 2008. The highly-acclaimed Jim Engh design is also ranked by Golf Digest in 2009 as No. 15 among "America's 100 Greatest Public & Resort Golf Courses."

Golf Digest, one of America's leading golf publications, has been publishing the list of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" since 1966 making it the oldest golf course ranking list in the industry.

It is also one of the toughest lists to make because it includes all courses private and public. With many of the courses on the list being the great old private clubs and the large number of modern day courses that exist, it takes a special modern day design to make both of these lists.

Golf Digest relies on its nationwide panel of more than 800 low-handicap male and female golfers to play nominated courses and score them on shot values, design variety, memorability, aesthetics, ambience, conditioning, and resistance to scoring. The scores are averaged and totaled with the highest totals winning.

"We are extremely honored to be associated with the best golf courses in the country and top courses in Michigan," said Kevin O'Brien, general manager for The Resorts of Tullymore & St. Ives. "To continue to stay on these lists and maintain a top ranking is a testimonial to the quality of standards that we have placed on Tullymore since it opened."

Tullymore Golf Club is also among the most affordable courses listed among the "America's 100 Greatest Public & Resort Golf Courses". The average price for a course listed among the Top 20 is $307.

Tullymore, during its peak season, is priced well below the average at $115-$140, being arguably the best value among the greatest courses in the country.

"With the positioning of our price point, we have become one of the best values in the country among the elite public and resort courses," said O'Brien. "The quality of our golf experience combined with the affordability has allowed us to maintain a positive level of success during these tough economic times."

O'Brien also says the rankings and affordability has had a positive impact on The Resorts real estate sales.

"Our top rankings, along with a high-end private club experience, and our affordability have provided great success in selling our real estate during this down economy. We seem to be in an economic bubble with all of the positive development taking place."
