Spring Meadows CC Welcomes Back Michigan Amateur to Flint Area Print E-mail

The 98th Michigan Amateur ChampionshipFARMINGTON HILLS – The 98th Michigan Amateur Championship, sponsored by Osprey Recreational Properties, will be contested on the lush fairways of Linden’s Spring Meadows Country Club June 23-27. For the first time in the history of the event, the Michigan Amateur will be held at Spring Meadows Country Club (par 71, 6,854 yards).

The return of the Michigan Amateur to the Flint area for the first time since 2001 has helped to attract one of the biggest fields in Michigan Amateur history. The golfer who is left on Saturday, June 27 as the 2009 Michigan Amateur Champion will have earned his name on the prestigious Staghorn trophy by outlasting the other 788 competitors in the 2009 Michigan Amateur Championship, making this the 5th largest field ever.

Crystal MountainTHOMPSONVILLE - Crystal Mountain Golf School, ranked among the Top 25 in America by Golf Magazine, will have a presence at the U.S. Open this week as both a pupil and instructor converge on Bethpage.

Clark Klaasen, who has worked with Crystal Mountain Director of Golf Brad Dean for three years, will be playing in his first event as a professional. He'll no doubt get some sage advice from Dean who played his first major last year at Oakland Hills Country Club.
