Buick Open - Only a Tiger Return Could Upstage Last Year’s Buick Open Drama

Buick Open

In the last half-dozen years, Tiger Woods has won the Buick Open at Grand Blanc’s Warwick Hills twice, as has Vijay Singh with Jim Furyk taking home a title as well. But nobody received roars any louder than Brian Bateman when he rolled in a 12-foot birdie at the final hole to hold off three seasoned winners, Jason Gore, Justin Leonard and Woody Austin and claimed his first TOUR win last summer.

They’ll likely ALL be back in the Flint area when the Buick Open returns June 23rd-29th, especially with the PGA Championship coming to Oakland Hills just six weeks after.

Players love Warwick Hills’ tight fairways and lush greens. Particularly, they love the crowds that turn the event into an “event”. The throng at the beautiful par-3 17th, possibly the loudest on TOUR east of Phoenix.

Buick Open When Woods had to withdraw from defending his 2006 title shortly after the birth of his new daughter, he promised a future return to the site of his 50th career victory. That win total is already now in the 60s and who knows, maybe he’ll pass another legend by the time he leaves Grand Blanc in ’08.

With the PGA in the neighborhood just a few weeks hence, the Ryder Cup race at a fever pitch and some separation from the other summer majors, the field will likely include many of the highest-ranked players in the game.

Wonderful package opportunities are available through the Flint Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. You’re invited to create your own fun-filled overnight stay to enhance your enjoyment of Genesee County attractions and accommodations!
