Little Prestwick Putting Course

“The course is tied into everything: the condo owners, new condo owners, the golfers who play here on a regular basis and the new golfers,” says Ray Davis, Assistant PGA Golf Professional at the facility. “We think it enhances our already family-friendly atmosphere by giving the entire family a place to come together and have fun, all the while learning an important part of the game.”

Thomas Ham, the PGA Professional at Gleneagle, notes that famed golf course architect Dr. Alister MacKenzie thought courses should be designed “full of intricate problems to keep golfers from getting bored with the game.” Gleneagle fits the bill to an even greater degree with Little Prestwick offering up several ‘intricate problems.’ Michael Shields has created many par-2, par-3 and par-4 holes that require strategy and imagination to avoid the many water-hazards, bunkers and run-off areas. Ham added, “Little Prestwick has exceeded all expectations in its first year. It has been extremely well received from the entire Gleneagle golf community. In addition, Little Prestwick has exposed many new players to the game, including juniors, seniors, and others who have never tried to play in the past. Little Prestwick at Gleneagle is a great source of enjoyment and challenge for those who enjoy the art of putting.”
